In our third attempt to drive out to my retreat site we finally made it! The first attempt ended in a miserable failure that all involved agreed not to talk about. The second was less dramatic - bogged down in the rtv in the loose dirt. Today we took the tractor all the way out and got a generator to the site. It was a great moment as so much thought and effort has gone in to the question of how the #$% to get materials to the site. It looks like this wil be the way... a bit slow and costly, but a long way from the ideas of helicopters or helium balloons that we looked into in the past.
The way back was a bit more interesting.... stuck again in some loose earth. We need to get the bulldozer to pull the tractor out and fix up a few spots in the road. But the end is in sight... or is it the beginning?
I think we will be building within two weeks!

ya... I think so. It is at the far end of the property up high on the hill. There are several eye brow ridges in the area..
